Silver Fig
I sit under the fig tree with
Luminosity arise around me. Peach chiffon
Billows on perfume wind. My dreams expand against the cloth
Before it slips from my fingers and
Shreds into sky.
Silver bells tinkle gently
The sun, caught in reflection, orchestrates escape
I taste past and present in the fruit of future and
Welcome death as merlot velvet
Pulls away from my skin and
I am born again in resounding air.

You create imagery like only you do – reading your poetry is a beautiful indulgence. I absolutely loved the concluding line – I am born again in resounding air.

Another great poem. The line “Billows on perfume wind” reminded me of when you can by walking when you suddenly get a hit of a nice smell and you wonder where it came from.
The born again bit, unfortunately, reminded me of my mum and her need to force feed everyone her faith

I was not aiming for a faith-based feel, but I understand how those last lines can be interpreted in different veins! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 🙂
