Body Language Prose

The nightclub wraps silken around me. Candles at the tables and velvet on the chairs, words slip between my fingers. Language massages my palms.

Beeswax arises in moonlight before my nose. I taste lavender dreams. A nightmare dances in charcoal with diamonds at his throat.

The cabaret wisps across the floor, their colors inundated with passion. I glimpse their transition from physical to ethereal in the corners of my rose-laden eyes. Their slippers tread a path up my spine. I shift and curl with the music while the white pages turn flaxen before me, and gilt letters carve into my heart.

I really like the line “I taste lavender dreams” because if I remember rightly, people use lavender to relax and to help them sleep, so it makes it quite the apt line.

Is the line “rose-laden eyes” a reference to rose tinted glasses, referring to how we can see things as better than they actually are?

Your golden words also carve my heart, and meanwhile I desire lavender dreams.
