For the world is Hollow and I have touched the Sky

For the world is hollow and I have touched the sky poem

~After Star Trek: Season Three, Episode 8

I shine through my skin

Fragile bone and silver dream

Gin and cocoa dust

Rose water pool and desert salt

Black bears at midnight

Wet their claws in aquatic love

Where first I rose out of mist

Sunset spark and soul

In reflection, I rise free.

Lovely poem Jaya. The image is fantastic. I saw 2 similar herons here in Georgia at the park a few moments ago. Majestic creatures. They almost look like small pterodactyls LOL.

At the end of the poem, I silently added “for the world is hollow and I have touched the sky” in my mind. Maybe cuz I’m a Trek fan, but the ending just brought the title to life.

The mind and heart conjure a reflecting pool, with a full moon, where two lovers rise out of the mist, souls entwined and dancing as one. This poem is gorgeous, Jaya!
