‘Unspoken’ Published at Green Ink Poetry!
I am so pleased to share my poem, Unspoken, is published at Green Ink Poetry as part of the newly released “whispers” collection!
Whispers seeks to underscore and highlight the quietly spoken or whispered utterances we murmur to each other, all while appreciating the natural call of the wild. When we whisper, we are usually seeking a moment of private connection within a busy setting. Perhaps you whisper to be heard in the bustle of an urban environment or a whispered exchange takes place in the vast landscape of nature, where even a whisper sounds like a scream.
I feel the best part of a whisper is its tendency to be about small, shared moments but, on the flip side, we often whisper out of politeness either to the current addressee of a gathering or to the subject of the whispered conversation.
So, What Inspired Unspoken?
I wrote several poems in my attempt to capture the simple exchange of a whisper. It is such a fleeting, important exchange between two people in which crisp observations and secrets rise to the surface.
Unspoken is about the unsaid. It is about what could happen, what has happened, and what will come to transpire. It is about the motion of an experience and potentially represents a moment that will linger in the mind and only enter reality as a whisper.
I feel Unspoken is about experiencing beauty. The poem is about winding down from the busy rush of life and hearing the whisper of the land. It is about settling in with the company of one’s self. Ultimately, it is a narrative of quietude.
The following is an excerpt of my poem, Unspoken, published at Green Ink Poetry.

Congrat’s, Jaya!

you ascend
naked desire
in dream
I can hardly myself
fight against it
although lust
holds my breath
is the hug
during the day
the touch
skin to skin
not to be had

First of all congratulations Jaya!
I find this poem very particular also for its form: decreasing but only in the number of words per line, for the rest it is a crescendo of emotions!
