5 Poems Published in Reflections & Revelations Anthology!

Published at The Short of It

I am delighted to share five of my micro-poems, Preceding, Into Silence, Tinging, Awaken, and Satisfied, are included in Reflections & Revelations, the second anthology of poetry published by The Short of It!

Curated by Susi Bocks of I Write Her, the anthology brings together the best work from the past year of featured writing on The Short Of It, Susi’s online journal where succinct micro-poems are given the spotlight.

Around this time two years ago, three of my micro-poems were featured in The Sound of Brilliance, the first anthology Susi curated with work published on The Short of It. It is a delight to see the second anthology come to life!

About Reflections & Revelations

This anthology brings together the best work of the forty-seven poets and writers who were featured in The Short of It publication in 2022. Their words seek to leave you with rich impressions and deep truths. Each piece by the poets and writers presented in this collection shows us, with depth and succinctness, what was on their minds. Every one of their poems, as the title of this book suggests, brings to the surface their “reflections and revelations.”

About my Micro-poems

I have always loved micro-poetry, as it challenges me to be as clear and poetic as I can be in as few words as possible. Micro-poetry then is about delivering a powerful message that is swiftly read yet hopefully not forgotten.

Preceding, Into Silence, Tinging, Awaken, and Satisfied serve as micro-poems that stand on their own yet also feed into each other and can be read as a whole. Thus, I invite you to enjoy Preceding, the beginning of this poetic mini story.

Preceding, Published in Reflections & Revelations

I pluck hearts from the sky
Count pennies amassed in fortune
On the moss cold
Under my concrete touch

When I read of Shakespeare
I see the strings in Romeo and Juliet and
I pull them.

I invite you to enjoy Reflections & Revelations and carry the little messages and truths of this book with you into the coming summer. If you are so called, Reflections & Revelations is available through Amazon here.

If you wish to delve deeper still into the voices of this book, Susi has shared some lovely and interesting interviews with many of the poets from this anthology on her YouTube Channel. There are many voices worth discovering!

At the words “when I read Shakespeare” I was already with heart-shaped eyes!
My veery best compliments Layla! I suppose that micro-poetry is difficult because feelings and sensations hardlt can be contained in few words.
