Majesty

Majesty Poem

Sound of your voice crystal in my ears

Run my finger round the glass lip

You shriek.

This is not what I asked for

This is not what I dreamed!

The oracle told me

Believe in what you see. Believe in what you feel

I believe her. Not you.

I came from blue water

Color of your eyes

I came from sand

Texture of your skin

I came from sea and shell

Taste of your love yet

Still you drown me.

I am the sea gull

Without earth in sight

He seeks respite on the whale’s back

I do not need to breathe but

I seek respite on you and

Watch the moon rise in the water slick

On your back.

A gorgeous poem, relating to me, the complexities of being bound and unbound at the same time, hinting towards the paradox of human beingness. The imagery and feelings in this poem are superb. Wonderful write, Jaya!

My pleasure. I do not know what is going on but since you’ve changed things around I am not able to comment or like your posts all the time. I unfollowed you and followed you back. Let’s hope it works now. That’s the only thing I know to do in cases like this.
