Freeze

Freeze Poem

The forest blazes

Long shadows through the fire

It gives off no heat.

Love it, and the picture goes perfectly! I was just talking to someone the other day about how strange it is that the body sometimes confuses hot and cold. Even though they are quite the opposite they definitely have some similarities when it comes to our perception of them.

Yes! I love how you read this in such a physical sense. 🙂

Short and sweet, but you say so much here. This gives me a feeling of being lonely in a room full of people. Great imagery.

I’ve already commented on this one but wanted to comment again because this is so fitting with how cold it’s been right now and I loveee it!

I think the recent USA fires impacted your writings a lot. After the fire, just ashes left of the plants.
A great way to turn pain into poetry:)

I love this! Says so much with so little. This one actually made me think for a bit. I was thinking of forest fires but then remembered the title was freeze and the last line tied it together. Thanks for sharing x

Such an interesting piece, the way I interpreted it was that the forest is in a way a sanctuary that provided warmth to a community so when the fire arises from either natural causes, global warming etc., the warmth and homliness feeling of the community that derived from the forest is no longer there (really not sure if that makes sense but I really loved this piece, makes me wish my poetry writing days, such great imagery!)
