Frozen Heart
First Published November 29th, 2018 in the Wolff Poetry Literary Magazine.
A glacier rises
Frigid tip kissing the dawn
Sun causes no drip
To a heart frozen by years
Of embracing new layers.

Beautiful, it does not surprise me one bit to learn you have work published.

That’s awesome that you got this published. You make someone like me who normally is NOT a poetry fan like it a bit (I normally just don’t “get it” if that makes sense.)

I know what you mean about not getting it! I had to start writing to ‘get it’. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.

Gosh there is so much meaning in the words here! Where do I start? ‘Frigid tip kissing the dawn’- I love what you did with the juxtaposition here. Then the sun not able to affect the ice because it has been frozen for so long, like people whose hearts are jaded by life. Then the half rhyme of ‘years’ and ‘layers’- these are words and meanings that linger in the mind, the true definition of poetry. I love it!
