‘Fired’ Published at Green Ink Poetry!

Fired Published at Green Ink Poetry

I am delighted to share my poem, Fired, is published at Green Ink Poetry as part of Collection Seven: Pyres!

Collection Seven: Pyres celebrates the inner fire in us all, from the smoke to the explosions to the sparks. Be it a guiding light, encouraging beacon, or doorway to another realm of existence, flame is a definite and hungry demonstration.

Through evocative imagery and vibrant storytelling, Collection Seven: Pyres explores personal connections to flame and revels in the streak of creativity that gave birth to words.

When I burn, I experience the height of life. All that matters is the moment and the ripple of heat. My imagination runs away from me. On the tip of a flicker I ride, strengthening in the wind, bending with it.

This burst of momentum is partly responsible for my plunge into the realm of self-hosted blogging. Welcome to my new Nin Chronicles! I love the new look and feel and am optimistic I will continue to grow here. If you would like to receive email notifications of new posts, sign up via the sidebar link to your right!

Heat, too, comes to mind in response to pyres. Hard, cracked dirt and yellow, brittle grass. Dark spots on green leaves in august, as if the world has stubbed out a thousand cigarettes on the foliage. The grease on my face becomes a sticky, sweaty mask. Heat is oppressive. Fire is not.

I invite you to enjoy Fired and perhaps for a precious moment embrace the heat.

I burn as I am meant to

Hot and smokeless

No black shroud hangs ‘bout my shoulders

Trailing ash . . . please continue reading here and feel free to share your beautiful thoughts!

Congrats on being published again! 😀

I love that idea of burning spurring on imagination and life. So much of the time burning is linked to destruction, so I like that perspective.
