‘Tears of Luna’ Published at Spillwords Press!

Tears of Luna Published at Spillwords Press

I am delighted to share my poem, Tears of Luna, is published at Spillwords Press!

Spillwords Press delights in giving all writers a space to share their spilled and raw words. It is a place where words matter.

There are tears along the path of writing a poetry book. A poetry book is not a medley of popular writing; it is a story. It is one long poem told by way of little poems. It is intentional.

Currently my book wants to showcase life through my experiences and mountain girl eyes. As I continue to write, perhaps the narrative will change. As a writer, it is impossible to be narrow-minded because stories are universal. The best stories fit into our lives and shift to relate to us.

While I am also writing my book poem by poem, I am also writing the story of my life. Episodes of Stoney River are true stories inspired by my life growing up in rural Virginia. I shared the first episode, Ghost Memories, on Nin Chronicles this week and was inspired by the enthusiastic response!

I intend to share future episodes on my Patreon page and make the story into a paid membership. For $10 a month, you gain access to exclusive past and future Episodes published monthly. Subscribe to my Patreon page! Your support would mean worlds to me.

In the meantime, I invite you to enjoy Tears of Luna, change its narrative to fit you, and make its meaning your own. I give you the words. You read them.

Jaya, my earnest and heartfelt congratulations. Your piece is wonderful and beautifully weaved with care and visceral emotion. I loved these lines the most:
    “She climbs the Milky Way
    Each night and
    Plants flowers at the grave
    Of a dead planet.”
This is so hopeful. Despite the endeavors, one can still climb over those obstacles. It takes time, it takes care, and it takes patience. That’s what I’m getting from this poem. I feel with the closing lines, it’s as well facing a conflict that the narrator does not want to face. They still, however, make the journey to plant the flowers at the grave because they still think of the subject of the poem, the dead planet. This can delineate itself into so many things. Themes such as “Are we killing ourselves in our environmental habits?” or “How can I face my inner and deepest grief?” jump out to me here. So beautifully penned, as all your marvelous poems are. <3 <3
