Ingrid’s Questions:

  1. Who is you all-time favourite writer?

I began my reading journey with the heartwarming stories by the english writer, Enid Blyton. Later I read Tolkien, tried Dickens, loved Louisa May Alcott. I do not have a favorite writer; I admire lines and love sentences but no one person can do it all for me.
  2. What is your all-time favourite poem?

I love poems that tell stories; poems that shock me and shake me to the core. As I recently had the pleasure of reading the works of Mary Mackey, my favorite poem is currently Whenever I Feel Like Complaining, the opening poem from the book The Jaguars That Prowl Our Dreams. It tells the story of a remarkable woman.

  3. What is your all-time favourite novel?

My favorite novels wan and wax like the moon. I fell in love with the poetic writing of Frances Mayes in Under the Tuscan Sun, whose stories read like prose poems.

  4. What is your favourite quote from a movie?

I admire the line “Let me help” from Star Trek episode The City on the Edge of Forever, especially after the speaker remarks that one day that line may crown even “I love you”.

  5. Can we save planet Earth from ourselves?

Hard question! Was Earth ever meant for us? I believe endless musing could be spent on this question; lifetimes could be wasted trying to find an answer. We try to save Earth from ourselves, but always, always it seems others are undoing our work.

  6. Are you religious? If so, what religion do you follow? Tell me a bit about it, as I like to learn about different religions.

My mother’s side of my family are mostly Muslims, while my father’s side are Christians. One of the best things about my family is having the freedom to choose what I want to believe in. I believe there is a force out there we turn to and harness in our own ways; it easy to call that force god.

  7. What languages do you speak?

I speak English and a little French. I also know some words in Italian, a small smattering in German. My favorite way to travel with a language is through accents.

  8. What do you look for most in someone else’s blog?

I love blogs that offer insights into the writer’s life and are so honest and connected to the writer’s voice that I enjoy being there and reading anything the author chooses to explore.

  9. What is your main aim in writing your own blog?

I write to share my views, ideals, and stories. I write to improve my writing as constructive feedback is my best friend. I also write to deepen my connection with my community.

  10. What is your favourite food?

My favorite food changes with the seasons. Currently, I love the flavorful sweet and spicy, rich and creamy Thai soup, Tom kha kai.

  11. Would you go to space if you had the chance?

Call me old-fashioned, even though I am young, but I do not relish the thought of going up into space. I dream of the Milky Way, wonder at what lies beyond the stars, but feel like the presence of man spoils the mystery.
