Rebellion

Rebellion Poem

~After Amanda Gorman‘s The Hill We Climb

The hills we struggle over are

Not hills at all.

We are lifting our knees too high

On flat ground.

Very thought provoking, it’s easy to make a mountain out of relatively minor struggles. It’s important to try and look at your own life from an outside lens sometimes x

Thank you for sharing!!… wonderful thoughts about something I often refer to as “making a mountain out of a mole hill”… 🙂
    Until we meet again..
May flowers always line your path
    and sunshine light your way,
    May songbirds serenade your
    every step along the way,
May a rainbow run beside you
in a sky that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart
each day your whole life through.

We are leaving our needs too high on flat ground. There’s something so powerful about that. Personally, for me it talks about how I can often overwork or over-worry when I do not need to! Just enjoy the flat!

    1. Jaya Avendel

Yes, Corrine, sometimes ambling is all we need to do. 🙂

What a thought-provoking piece! Sometimes in life we see obstacles as larger than they need to be when, in fact, reality is only our personal perspective?

I immediately received the sensation of struggle, starting from the picture and then with your Words.
Lifting knees high could be a rebellion against the flatness.
I love your way of painting emotions dear Jaya!

    1. Jaya Avendel

Oo, I never thought of the lifting of our knees being a rebellion against flatness! Loving this new story you have unearthed in a poem I thought I knew.
