Real Neat Blog Award!

Real Neat Blog Award

This came just in time to celebrate reaching 100 likes on Nin Chronicles’ Facebook page! That round number means so much to me, and I am grateful to every one of you who clicked the ‘like’ button. You helped create a community.

That said, I am honored Ellie of Ellie’s London thinks my blog is real neat! She writes beautiful posts with authentic photos of the many places she has visited and the food she has enjoyed. I have not traveled much but I feel as if I have gone to places through her posts.

So, what is this Award? Exactly what it sounds like; it is a way for you to show your appreciation of someone else’s talent by letting them know they are not just neat but really neat.

Rules of the Real Neat Blog Award:

  • Display the award logo on your site.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the questions from the blogger who nominated you.
  • Nominate up to ten bloggers.
  • Ask your nominees seven questions.

Ellie’s Questions:

If you you had the attention of the whole world for 30 whole seconds, what you would tell everyone?

“People, love your children! Children are not just the future but the present, and how you create and guide their childhoods will determine how they create and guide the world.”

What is in your fridge right now? You are not allowed to go and check.

No Thanksgiving leftovers hiding in my fridge, I promise! I have Brussels sprouts, lettuce, milk, eggs, tomatoes, kale, apples, asian pears, parmesan, miso, pickled vegetables . . . carrots, celery, bacon.

If you could un-invent one thing, what would it be and why?

Hard question! I would un-invent plastic. It is clogging our rivers, poisoning our oceans, killing our birds. We can live without it filling bins and choking our earth.

What do you first notice about someone you are attracted to?

I notice eyes and hair. But, most of all, I notice how the person treats children. It is well and good for a person to respect peers and like-minded adults but how they treat little people reveals so much more about them.

What is your favourite sound?

I love listening to rain drumming on the roof and the inevitable roar it creates in the creek that runs behind my bedroom.

Which transport method do you hate the most?

Cars. Cars started out as a way to travel quicker and further then before. Now, for people living in cities with wonderful public transport system, they are a material need passed down generation to generation, into a time when the need should be re-examined.

What do you think people do too much of today?

People use their phones too much. It saddens me to see people out eating dinner with one eye on their phone, texting each other instead of talking. Self-limitation is not easy and I know how addictive technology can be. But it is worth it to be aware of how much you use your phone and exchange it for people and conversation and play; real experiences, often.

My Nominees:

Tamra from Nurturing Parent Blog. I love how inclusive she is of different opinions on the same topics.

Nidhi from Sunnies My Bunnies, with her heartfelt posts about being a mother and homemaker.

Lauren from Bournemouth Girl. Her journal pages are altogether beautiful!

Riana from Teaspoon of Adventure. People who share great experiences honestly through their writing always connect with me!

Je from My Wellness Me. Her posts take common things in our everyday lives and transforms them into eco-friendly living without taking anything away.

My Questions:

Do you have a favorite season? If so, why?
What problem in the world today do you want to change?
Are you a dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate person?
What is your favorite hobby/pastime?
Do you enjoy sunshine?
What is the best place to eat in your hometown?
What does being kind to children mean to you?

Thank you for coming along with me on this writing journey! You make my community.

Great post! Love how you would reinvent plastic – a plastic free world would be so much better. Thank you for sharing! Emma x

I am sure it would feel devastating to some but it is in our human nature to adapt. Reinventing plastic is a dream to hold onto.

You can’t go wrong with Asian pears. I agree with you about people using their phones too much. Especially when they’re hanging out with people. How about be a bit more present? Thanks for sharing!
