Three Poems Published in The Kali Project Anthology from Indie Blu(e) Publishing!
I am stoked to be part of The Kali Project anthology with three poems, Arranged Marriage, Queens of the Night, and Pathfinder!
The Kali Project anthology highlights of the voices of many famous Indian poets, writers, artists, and children in order to highlight inequality, sexism, racism, gender, and education, among other misconceived values.
Indie Blu(e) Publishing is a feminist micro-press dedicated to publishing honest, raw, relevant, and inspiring works.
The Kali Project is a tear-inspiring, gut-wrenching story that remains beautiful despite the sorrow and realities of many of the writers and poets and artists who have opened up to their inner creative and found the courage to share their stories. It is a book to educate as well as grip the heart. It is a book to turn to when in need of one more reason to feel anger at the injustices of the world and to feel compassion for and community with our fellows quietly stoking change through words.
With the publication of As The World Burns Anthology last year, I finally had the opportunity to see my words in print. I am so happy to be able to experience that same feeling in 2021. It is a writer’s dream and to be part of such a timely and inspiring collection of writing seeking to change stereotypes and change the world? This goes beyond the initial dream.
Words in ink offer security and feeling. While the written word can tell a lie, I find words are mostly honest if we accept the context and story behind them not, perhaps, as truth, but as an experience.
As a writer of Indian descendant, though I do not know so closely many of the struggles the voices in this book relate, I have done my best to offer you my experience. The experience of a blue-eyed mountain girl with desert blood in her veins.
I hope you learn from this book, empathize with this book, and find at least one way to connect with this book. If you are so called, you can purchase the Kali Project here.
May the words flow!

Oooh congratulations on getting three poems published at The Kali Project! It is important that people are educated about culture. Although there are some upsetting truths, at least it is written in history so it should not be repeated again when justice happens. It’s exciting that your work is part of a printed piece! Keep up the amazing work, Jaya!
