~After Amazon’s Rings of Power Series
I
Pearl letters against the backdrop of my heart
Onyx and carnelian
Ink intertwined with my passion
for your carefree nature
You bend
evolve into the myriad pockets of
II
My vision of you
marred
Broken in the shards of a
crystalline fire
Iron weight of alteration breaks rib
I wisp small in sorrow
This is not my vision of you.
III
Breath of step
Copper heel against the brick
Freezing fog; silver veil
You, in unison with me.

The person that you desire is very different from what you think of the individual! I read this as a poem of unrequited love where you find solace in a fantasy of being together!
aimsysantics
Very powerful piece. You can see the desire spilling out from your words.
Another fab one Jaya!

Ooh, this really sounds like a painful type of love! I really get a sense of the wounds being inflicted in the relationship with ‘marred,’ ‘shards’ and ‘fire.’ This is beautifully written and I also love the structure- it makes the words roll off the tongue so effectively.
Jaya Avendel
Thank you ever so much!

Beautifully crafted, Jaya!

I love all three. As a compilation, they speak to me differently of desire. In the first, sensuality is expressed elegantly, the second, there is a weightiness that we discover, and the third plays with darkness; all expressed so beautifully. These are my fav lines, “ You bend
evolve into the myriad pockets of
my hungry imagination.” Amazing, Jaya!
Jaya Avendel
I am so pleased, Jeff, that you read into the ways the three stanzas relate and differ from each other! Thank you for sharing.
