What an imagery!! The title, the stags, the doe, and that image!! I would never have thought of something like this!! But yes, perhaps now I can connect them all. Beautiful, Jaya!!
I love the imagery and dynamics you can capture in so few words. The contrast between the power I associate with the word lioness and the passivity of the word doe is intriguing to me–especially with the doe’s place in the poem’s drama.
This makes for a really interesting snapshot! The title almost seems to betray something sinister, but in the forefront it captures a fascinating image of nature
It felt like you’ve really captured the essence of nature within this piece. I can immediately imagine such a scene as if I had been transported there.
Better to watch and wait for the victor than to fight and risk death. The animal kingdom can be so violent and unforgiving. Your poem catches a single moment in an animals life cycle so eloquently
