Gratitude Bejeweled

Gratitude Bejeweled Poem

Grey rock and liquid gold sunshine

Ocean at the end of the world

Kisses my feet on infinity sand.

Dancing wave and gratitude bejeweled

The hands on the clock count in diamond minutes.

Coffee pierces salty air

My fingernails copper against clay cup

Cream and silver spoon

Romantic dreams of feasting in company of stars.

Slow waltz toward dusk

With ink and parchment in hand

Lyre and ebony violin chords distant

Between sunset and moonrise

Affirmative rebirth.

Happy Thanksgiving in your traditional and untraditional celebrations!

The hand is haunting, more so with the words. A violin and waltz–you’re speaking my language.

As I read this, I am only a few feet from the sea, which is one of my fav places on the planet. The sea always feels like the space in between, a cosmic relation of mystery and reality, combined into one very gratifying experience. Gorgeous poem, Jaya! Happy belated Thanksgiving.
