Blood Moon

Blood Moon Poem

He holds the world in his stomach

He holds a pomegranate that he breaks with hands the size of my feet

Blood fills the fortune lines in his palms

Pomegranate jewels press into my lips like the devil eyes of the last bus to Fort Worth

His body pulses with concrete

His weight against me curves my spine

Into the teeth of the earth

I bleed pomegranate jewels like a woman

Bleeds static.

“Blood fills the fortune lines in his palms” These words are extremely expressive and powerful, some say that the lines of the hand are also the lines of life.

What a metaphorical approach to pomegranates Layla! Love this: “I bleed pomegranate jewels like a woman…Bleeds static.” Electrifying! 😎🌺🌞 Pomegranates are great when they don’t stain everything including your fingers! 😝
