Eye of Demeter

Eye of Demeter Poem

Last night the moon rose electric in the sky

Fingernail sliver of warm yellow streetlight

Almost swallowed by midnight earth and

Chocolate irises.

A shooting star traces the path of my heart

Between the tip of a wheat sheaf and

Orion’s belt. The great migration of lovers

Converges south

Wheeling past Saturn as it blinks

Into existence.
