Wine Garden

Orchard wraps its silk around me in

Dying, dusky air. I live and die in

Dreams slashed with ink.

The sun rises

Glistening mango against wicked sky

I cut my teeth on its pith.

In drinking down the wine of life

I imbibe spirit

Feel the pulse of the earth

Settle in the pit of my stomach and

Merge with the orchestra of my being.

Luminescent and fleeting; aliferous

I gather wandering shards of self and

Drift toward the retreating shore where the air

Smells of apple blossom and ocean salt and

I dissolve into time.

    I would want to remain,
snug, singing in the falling rain.
Though there’s not much earth left,
    I’m on my course.
Taking it all in, Nature’s kiss
    and I’m sent sleeping,
    a surrogate to a blessing I don’t recognize .

Beautiful piece, Jaya ! So inspiring

The Wine Garden is an art installation by artist Xu Bing that was first exhibited at the China Art Museum in Shanghai in 2010. The installation consists of a large garden filled with grape vines and wine bottles, as well as a small building in the center of the garden that houses a wine cellar. The purpose of the installation is to celebrate the tradition of wine-making in China and to explore the relationship between humans and nature.

This is so gorgeous. I get the image and sensation of standing on a cliff overlooking the sea, while I infuse the colors of the skyline and the sea line into the canvas right in from of me, just as the sun slowly descends. What wondrous imagery and feelings in this write, Jaya! I love it.

This is very evocative poetry from a high level. I absolutely love it. Maybe poets all have to carve out their dreams with ink and leave an impression of them.

  13. Keep Calm & Drink Coffee

It would be nice to be able to cut dreams with ink, or perhaps even more so to fix them, so as not to let them vanish, as happens, after all, over time, even for them.
