Tangerine Moonshine
There is all this love within me
It trails its fingers along chandelier glass
Plays tunes grand for ballroom floor.
I invited you to taste wine on polished deck
With the Atlantic warm on the horizon and
Taste of orchard in the air.
You brought glass bottles of vinegar
Elegantly cut with
Facets that stole the sun.
I pried out the cork stoppers and rubbed them in charcoal
Painted vintage portrait with nostalgic smile
Smeared cloud in the night and
Shadow in the sky.
In solitude I walked the grand staircase
Ocean dances forever behind me
Honey drizzles sweet
I lose myself to tangerine moonshine.
