Reviving Ophelia

Reviving Ophelia Poem

Find her waltzing between the pages of your

favorite books with the ribs

of her hydrangea-blossom spine

corseting her desire.

Regurgitate the shimmering pool of your envy

look in its reflection for the moon

Write recipes for chocolate

Rediscover love for the

crushed flower petal

boldly fragrancing the masculine air.

Inspired by Eugi’s weekly prompt: envy

This was such a descriptive written piece that provokes a lot of imagery to come to mind.

“Regurgitate the shimmering pool of your envy” caught my eye the most because it reminds how being jealous is poisonous, and it doesn’t take much for envy to because toxic jealousy

“Regurgitate the shimmering pool of your envy / look in its reflection for the moon” This feels like such a perfect picture of envy. The perverseness of it and the idolization of what we’re viewing as beautiful. I love how your words stir thoughts and emotions <3
