Interesting poem. I like the line “eyes of melted wax” I wonder though how to interpret that…

I love it! Also, I randomly thought of Desire from the Sandman graphic novels LOL. Time for a re-read on those I guess. It’s been too long.

I wonder if everyone is picturing the same thing when they think of eyes of melted wax. In conveys the emotion well, but how we interpret the imagery it’s suggesting would have some degrees of difference. Great poem

I love poetry because the same words can be read a hundred different ways. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Thanks so much for reading!

This is a very interesting haiku, especially with the choice of words. When we think of melted wax, it only stays melted when it is warm. The warm look really has a meaningful impact. Meanwhile, cold looks mean you’re in trouble!! Great job on this one!

I had to contemplate what “eyes of melted wax” could mean for a little bit. And with the title of Desire I began to imaging the heat and soft texture of melting wax. Love how your words can bring such imagery. 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing the way you ‘saw’ this piece! Means the world.
