Will no one listen?

We answer to the wrong call

The right one muffled.

This really makes me think about the messages and callings we receive in life which are easily ignored. I like the choice of the word muffled. Sometimes as mere humans, our messages are muffled by youth, ignorance, naivete, arrogance, carelessness. Some people don’t know or care to think about what they have missed but for others, the regret can last a lifetime.

Thank you for sharing your thought-provoking thoughts! I like the word ‘muffled’ because it means the muffler can disappear. 🙂

Very powerful words! This is so fitting to many situations, but it really makes me think of someone living with dementia and their difficulty in communicating their needs.
Thank you for sharing another great thought-provoking post!

One of the things I love best about poetry is it is interpreted in so many different ways. Thank you for sharing your interpretation!

I can relate to this. It’s hard when you want to express your views, and people seem to be unwilling to listen. Listening can really help us resolve issues better.

Strangely, I get this on another level. I feel quite unheard among people I thought would be the first to hear me and it almost seems like this sums it up perfectly.

I can totally relate to this. There are people with great ideas who are trying to speak but the targeted audience is not listening as if they’re deaf. Or at the same time, they are listening to the wrong people. Thank you for sharing this piece.

Sadly, it is the reality. Let’s hope more people would be aware of the wrong calls they’ve answered to, and stand up to what they think is right, so we can have a better future. Thank you for sharing this powerful poem with us! x Ain (www.captaineverland.co.uk)

Wow such a powerful poem! I think this can apply to what we think is important for us vs what is actually important for us in life. There are so many things that we may brush away and not realize that they are important until later on, so it’s just muffled in the distance and by the time we realize it is important, the time has already passed.

I learned that lesson through writing. By letting the words flow instead of plotting them, I unconsciously worked in so much. 🙂

This is the sad reality we all go through every now and then.

Luckily, it is not permanent as more and more people open their eyes and ears. 🙏🏼

That is the irony of life.

Yes, it is. It takes open ears to see (or listen) past it.

This is a really powerful poem, there’s so many things to be said for the few words that you’ve used. It’s a sad truth though, so heartfelt x
