Sitting bowed under

A curtain of sorrow I

Cannot see the dawn.

Beautiful poem Jaya! Conveys a sense of pain and pathos in just a few words, and makes you empathise with the victim!

This really resonated with me. When you are in a certain mindset, it is hard to see things the right way. Kind of reminds me of Birdbox, you know things are bad but you can’t see them. Thanks for sharing this piece!

It is hard to look outside the box sometimes! I find it scary but worth it.

Excellent choice of photo here! There’s something about it that really adds to the sadness of the poem, beautiful combination x

I don’t know why but that picture combined with those words made me think of all the families in Syria and how many of them quite literally never see the dawn. You write so well, Jaya, thank you for sharing this x

I am glad you enjoyed it. It was inspired by an article on child brides around the world.

Oh.. that social evil has always tugged at my heart.I have written an anthology on the social evils and it was one of the topic.

I am not surprised so many people choose to write about it. It is something that deserves to be brought to the attention of the world.
