‘Self Isolation’ Published at Brave and Reckless & Heretics, Lovers, and Madmen!

Self Isolation Poem Published

It is a joy to announce my poem, Self Isolation, has been accepted for publication over at Brave and Reckless and Heretics, Lovers, and Madmen. Written in response to a prompt encouraging writers to share their feelings on coronavirus through art and words, Self Isolation is what came out of me.

Brave and Reckless is the home-place of the poet and writer, Christine E. Ray, where she so beautifully says, “I refuse to be invisible. I honor my voice. I write because I have to.”

Since I too write to express myself, I connected so much with the best phrasing of why many writers write! For me, it has always been about letting the words flow but Christine makes a point of explaining why the words must flow.

Heretics, Lovers, and Madmen is curated by three poets; Christine E. Ray, Nicole Lyons, and Kindra M. Austin, where poets and writers are encouraged to experiment with individual poetic styles, delve into their darker sides, and push past inner and societal boundaries.

I love breaking past stereotypes and boundaries. One of the many reasons I write as a beginner poet is to share new ideas. As I write I learn new things about myself as well as see many old thoughts in new light. A poem is born when something clicks!

I am hot and angry
Lost somewhere between crying and screaming.

I seek something to break
To fling a jar hard and
Watch its crystalline shine shatter . . .
Please do continue reading Self-Isolation at either Brave and Reckless or Heretics, Lovers, and Madmen and share your beautiful thoughts!

Congratulations on getting your poem published elsewhere! It’s a tough situation but unfortunately, creativity often thrives on misery and it’s great that something positive can come out of this for you x

Congratulations on getting your poem announced for publication! Sometimes, creativity hits nicely when we are going through something. Though, not the best situation to be in, but there are some pluses. I love how you express your thoughts through your work. I can relate to them whenever I read them! Keep up the great work!

I personally really loved this poem of yours, I can relate to it quite easily. Perhaps that’s why it got into Brave and Reckless and Heretics, Lovers and Madmen, because the editors knew people would love it.
I hope you’ll get into more publications, the world needs to see your poetry.
