Petal Due

Petal Due Poem

The best way to have an accident

is to bleed over the sunflowers until the

petals are crimson and the dirt beneath you is

cool with shed dreams and rebirth.

This way you pay for your mistake in the

eyes of world.

My thoughts, like Lisa’s Notebook’s comment, went to Ukraine and Russia. A powerful poem, Jaya. Death, pain, and perhaps repentance and a rebirth.

A fascinating notion here, of a kind of elemental balance having to be restored.

Your analogy with sunflowers made me think of Ukraine. We can only hope that the Ukrainians win and that Russia will experience a rebirth in defeat without Putin and his mafia gang.

A gorgeous write, Jaya, speaking to me of the visceral shedding of the past, those things that we think we need to do, and the rebirth that awaits as we bleed these previously held dreams to make space for new ones. Lovely write!
