Luminary
I tire of this word
Eternal
Snow white rose rage it sparks
My blushing petals combat to last forever
Afterlife shines through their tips
Morning dew to sunrise tears
Give my life meaning
Reduce me to memory
Reduce me to the potent essence
Of whom I am
My aggravated quill is a
Little too old to hold onto ink much longer
I pass into legend.

This piece blends so well with the photo. This is a beautiful piece where the words flow deeply

Eternal really hold a pack but it doesn’t when it is abused in the wrong settings. I love the description of the snow white rose. We don’t think of that often times. The reference to the quill being too old and not being able to hold ink can be relatable – when you’re not as well as you are before. Keep it up! Another great piece!

That was beautiful Jaya. “Reduce me to memory, Reduce me to the potent essence Of whom I am”… I read these wonderful lines as someone coming to terms and at peace with their own mortality. And by the way, your quill’s still fresh and flowing with poetic creativity I’ve seen only in a select few. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Jaya Avendel
Your words always warm me to the soul, Jess, thank you! Love that you felt the mortality in this piece.

You are a legend for real!
And on my view your quill can’t hold ink because words flow through your being like the pulse of the universe.
Jaya Avendel
You inspire another poem in me, Claudia! Thank you.

Beautifully written, as always, Jaya.
I have to say, there are some days when I feel like I’m “Little too old to hold onto ink much longer”!
Jaya Avendel
Thank you, Richie! May the words flow. 🙂

I really enjoy when you mix it up with a longer poem. This one is so evocative; I really like the repetition of the word “reduce.”

Beautiful words once again, you are truly talented! I love that you can take away something from this, as well as it taking on different meanings. Fabulous!

I had to look up luminary to check my understanding and both meanings, depending on which one you choose, shine new light on your words (no pun intended). Love this, Jaya, you have such a wonderful way with words!
Jaya Avendel
Love that you looked up the word, Lisa, and experienced the poem in a new way! Thank you so much for sharing.

Trying to fight hard, to prove our own existence, to find meanings in our lives, I’m sure, all of us, can, relate to this.
