Gypsy Moon

Gypsy Moon Poem

The gypsy woman dances

Her skirts cup the edges of the moon.

She tells her broken story from between crimson lips

While silk daubs the sky behind her and

Indigo letters infiltrate the heartache of her tears.

When the mountains merge with

Illuminated urban horizon

She traces her ribs over with pearl and

Bares herself to the world, to the wild.

The sun rises vermillion and fades to dusky orange

Between oyster purple and clam-shell white

She gathers her embroidered skirts close and

Radiating present

Fades.
