Eve Dreams

Eve Dreams Poem

The desert chill settles in my bones

Cacti blossoms under frost.

Chocolate hearts and peppermint sahuaro kisses

Cups over which steam dances

The caramel and mistletoe.

Solstice roses blackened in the fire and the

Moon wicked overhead.

Snap of starlight at the window

The violin polished darkly and

Espresso candle flickering.

Hot chocolate dusted over with chili

Ribbon and stocking and

The blue of the night garbed around you.

Merry Christmas in your traditional and untraditional celebrations!

How wonderfully you bring together the desert sensations; the roughness, the gentleness, the waste, and the utmost splendor. Gorgeous poetry, Jaya! Wishing you a wonderful new year! 🥳💖

Haha, sahuaro is a new word to me. And also chocolate with chili. What a great combination. And soooo true that sometimes one feels that moon is a little wicked…
