Thrust I am into unwelcome hugs

No choice but to bleed hearts and tears

Princess     underdog    bully

I live these lives madly

In their heads I laugh

No room for me

Judgement day

Lack of

Trust.

  1. Such a powerful and thought provoking poem, Jaya! The first time I read it, I interpreted it very differently to how I interpreted it the second time. It always amazes me how the meaning behind your words can change with a small shift in perspective. 🙂

  2. Interesting ideas, if you’re considering generally introverted people. Not everyone feeds off the energy of others, and for some, the experience of interaction can be exhausting and feel like you are bleeding away a part of yourself

  3. Obviously I don’t know what or who you had in mind when you wrote this but it made me think of celebrities who have to put on a public face for the crowds and fans, no matter how they really feel inside. Love this, Jaya, so many levels 🙂
