I am delighted to share my poem, Parallel, is published in Volume 07, Chapter 12 of Visual Verse’s monthly ongoing anthology!
Each month Visual Verse shares an image and publishes the best of writing inspired by the photo. It is one of my favorite online poetic collections; each new chapter brings new thoughts and wonder at the many different ways people see the same picture.
I enjoy challenging myself to stretch my imagination and write of the expected in unexpected ways. I have learned not to write not for the generic market but for my community; those people who connect with the odd tips and stories I weave into my writing.
Be original. Be you.
Have confidence in what you write. Put yourself into your ideas. Share things that you love to do or things that work for you and say why. Do not be another parallel lost in a sea of the same titles. Be a remarkable parallel that shines!
I invite you to enjoy Parallel and hope it shines for you.
My pioneer self

She had three children five years later

Congratulations once again. I love your attitude towards how you write, be you and the audience you want to connect with will find you. That’s so much more fulfilling than mass engagement based on nothing x

You made my day today! I prefer little numbers that mean something as opposed the big numbers that are empty. 🙂

Congratulations. I love the way you have expressed the struggle of women through the ages but shown a connection with the words ‘Where I stand now’

“The writing came in blood languages”
This is absolutely touching into deep.
When the writing is your same life, your same blood, it is REAL, and powerful, like your words which can express the wonders inside of yourself dear Jaya

Congratulations on getting Parallel published!! Visual Verse has a lot of your work now :). It is great when you can write in unexpected ways. People always preferred boys for some reason. Girls are just as great – girls is a blessing. Keep doing a great work!!

The image also sparked thoughts of motherhood in me too, the way the character seems to be multitasking as you often here is a complaint from a lot of mothers. Great piece

I personally love multitasking, but I feel you on seeing a lot of complaints about it out there!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I don’t mind multitasking either, but I guess it’s different when you’ve got to worry about the safety of a baby/toddler as you’re multitasking
