Fairy Towns

No wasps on the

Northern side of the shed

Only poisonous toadstools and

Acorns that creep in

From the South.

  1. North and South – I don’t know if you had this in mind when you wrote your poem but that’s what came to me when I read it. Or maybe I’m just too fanciful, and the Civil War is a leap too far! But that’s the beauty of poetry, it means different things to everyone, doesn’t it? Thank you, Jaya 🙂

    1. I love that poetry ends up meaning different things to everyone! I actually had in mind a hill behind my shed when I wrote this, but the Civil War is a good focal point too!

  2. I like how you were inspired from the fairy picture to form this poem. Most of us hate wasps, but the poisonous toadstools can do so much damage too. Same with acorns if it is in the way. At this point, it comes down to realizing which side is the greener side. Thanks for sharing!
