I smile to share that my poem, Size Seven, has been published over at Spillwords Press!
As its name suggests, Spillwords Press is a place for writers to thrive and words to flow into the centers of our fragile beings, where truth hides in feelings we may not know we have.
When I come away from reading a piece, if I feel a flicker of sadness or even a flash of anger, I know that what I just read was well-written, even if I did not agree with its content. Perhaps I find a parallel between my life and the story the writer is sharing or maybe I learn something new.
My passion as a writer is to catch feelings. Not capture them, since emotions cannot be caged, but to write feeling into words so that stories and memories and life may be remembered through words.
Writing Size Seven, I realized not all words fit one piece; when catching emotions, words have to click into place. For one poem, overwhelming is the word I need, for this poem insurmountable.
It is an insurmountable feeling

Congrats!!!!! You write so eloquently. Your words blow me away. You may not want to cage emotions. You don’t cage them. You set them free in your writing. Keep inspiring.

The last thing we want is to really think about what the writer is trying to say. You hit the nail with that one!! Looking forward to your next published work 😉

Congratulations for your achievement and yes, I agree with you, that feelings should be free like birds, letting them find their place at their own will.

I love living in the mountains; right about now all the trees have little buds on them so it is leading up to my favorite time when all the trees turn green! 🙂

YES! Springtime has finally arrived, hasn’t it? I have been following the stark bark to the blossoms, the tiny buds and now the bold shout and unstoppable eruption of the season! Winter is gone.
