Oh I love this! It definitely makes me think of an owl swooping down to catch it’s prey! Your writing is always so amazing!

This is such a beautiful, evocative haiku, Jaya! π It’s a strong piece, perfectly capturing the unequal balance of power between the two!

I love this piece!
It really sets the scene of an animal being chased but also on the perspective of the predator of how itβs skilled and knows exactly where to strike when needed. Like in my head I have glowing yellow eyes scanning the forrest waiting for prey to make itself known in the form of leaves crunching.
Love the imagery!

I don’t know why, but I envisioned a human predictor stalking another human target. Powerful poem

WHERE do you find your photos? And I’m curious, do you write first or see a picture and get inspired? Whichever, I love this one, the ghostly assassin swooping in on silent wings, wonderful! x

I do love Unsplash for my photos; just like the blogs hiding out there, so many amazing photographers share their work on the site for free!
I have always written the poem first and then gone hunting for the image. Sometimes what I choose brings a whole new meaning to the piece. π
