His eyes bled into my heart
Jolting me to see the wounds
I had caused and struggle to heal.
His body said one thing
But his soul said another.
To see his spirited scattered
Across the floor of his heart
Broke my resolve and
Put it back together
Twice as strong.
Great poem that really brings some emotion throughout. Always love how words alone can bring feelings out of a person.

There is a sharpness to the first lines that bring out your point, and some firmness of resolve at the end. A nice poem and I like the way you have constructed it 🙂

Thank you! I find poems with a little bit of angst and truth in them are often difficult to put together but come out beautifully.
